IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD DO TO PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?
Yes! Please try your best to arrive without any eye makeup on. Do not curl your lashes or wear mascara, as it may affect the glue's longevity and positioning of the lashes.
HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY LASHES ?
For the first 24 hours, do not get your lashes wet. Avoid splashing your face, steam rooms, massages, facials, tanning , and sweaty workouts. You can wash your face, however we would recommend using a face cloth to rinse around the eye area.
THE BIG NO-NO’s
No curling your lashes, no waterproof mascara, no smooshing your face on your pillow, & no eye masks. We do stock eye makeup and cleanser designed especially for eyelash extensions, ask your technician for details if interested, however we feel the extensions alone are beautiful enough without the mascara. Use a face cloth to wash your face (instead of splashing). Avoid direct shower head spray in the shower. Use a headband when you’re hitting the gym or working up a sweat. This will prevents sweat from dripping onto your eyes and lashes. You can exercise as usual, however please note the bond of the extensions weaken with excessive sweat and oils, therefore those who engage in high cardio workouts as well as hot yoga will notice a compromise in the life of their extensions.
HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?
On the average person, your eyelash extensions will look great for approximately 3 weeks before requiring a touch up. If you do not touch up at this time, they will continue to shed and completely fall off in 5-6 weeks. Some clients experience a much better retention rate than others depending on how fast your lashes shed and the way you care for your eyelash extensions.
DO LASH EXTENSIONS DAMAGE YOUR NATURAL LASHES
Over clumping and excessive glue use by poorly trained lash stylists will result in damaged and painful lashes, but when applied properly by a trained professional - never! Our extensions have a no-damage guarentee! Great extensions will only cause damage if they are picked or pulled at. Also remember that your natural lashes have their own life cycle of growing then shedding, so if a natural lash falls out attached to an extension, do not fret! This is completely natural, lash has simply fallen out on its own.
We've seen our fair share of bad jobs and understand why some clients are reluctant to get their lashes done. We specialise in lashes so we know what we are doing. If you want the BEST lashes applied without causing damage to your natural lashes please come and see us. We are so confident in our skills that if you don't love it, we don't want you to pay for it!
ARE THERE ANY RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH LASH EXTENSIONS ?
As with any product, there is a very small chance of an allergic reaction. If this happens, swelling of the eyes will occur within the first 48 hours. If you're unsure, we can always do a test by applying a few extensions on first to see if you are prone to getting a reaction. If you do react, we will gladly remove your extensions without charge. Once removed, the swelling will dissipate within a day or two, and your eyes will be back to normal without any damage to either your eyes or lashes.
WHO SHOULD NOT WEAR EYELASH EXTENSIONS ?
Eyelash Extensions may not be suitable for people who:
Have pre-existing eyelid or eye conditions such as blepharitis and ocular rosacea
Are very rough with themselves and do not want to follow after care instructions
Want a very heavy mascara look but do not have the natural lashes to support it
Are in chlorinated water many times a week
Cannot control rubbing their eyes.
Have recently had eye or eyelid surgery within the past six weeks
Have had any type of invasive treatment around the eye or face area
Have allergies to or have had a reaction to acrylate products including acrylic nails
DO YOU RECOMMEND LASH EXTENSIONS FOR MY WEDDING OR TRAVEL ?
Yes! Eyelash Extensions will allow you the freedom of looking extra beautiful without the fuss of wearing mascara and eyeliner, and no mascara tear tracks! However, if you’ve never tried it before you should have them applied at least 4 days before you leave for travel, just in case you happen to fall into the 1% of those who may have a reaction. For brides, we recommend you come in and try a set at least a month before your big day to decide on the look you want and to rule out any possible irritation. And then book for a refill 2-3 days prior to your big day.
