FOR EYELASH EXTENSIONS
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD DO TO PREPARE FOR MY LASH APPOINTMENT?
Yes! Please try your best to arrive without any eye makeup on. Do not curl your lashes or wear mascara, as it may affect the glue's longevity and positioning of the lashes.
HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY LASHES ?
For the first 24 hours, do not get your lashes wet. Avoid splashing water onto your face, steam rooms, massages, facials, tanning , and sweaty workouts. You can wash your face, however we would recommend using a face cloth to rinse around the eye area.
THE BIG NO-NO’s
No curling your lashes, no waterproof mascara, no smooshing your face into your pillow please. We do stock eye makeup and the Pro Long lash cleanser designed especially for eyelash extensions. Please ask your lash artist for details for further information. Use a face cloth to wash your face (instead of splashing). Avoid direct shower head spray in the shower. Use a headband when you’re hitting the gym or working up a sweat. This will prevent sweat from dripping onto your eyes and lashes. You can exercise as usual, however please note the bond of the extensions weaken with excessive sweat and oils, therefore those who engage in high cardio workouts as well as hot yoga will notice a compromise in the life of their extensions.
HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?
Eyelash extensions will look great for approximately 3 weeks before requiring a touch up. If you do not touch up at this time, they will continue to shed and completely fall off in 5-6 weeks. Some clients experience a much better retention rate than others depending on how fast your lashes shed and the way you care for your eyelash extensions.
DO LASH EXTENSIONS DAMAGE YOUR NATURAL LASHES
When applied properly by a trained professional - NO it will damage your natural lashes! Our extensions have a no-damage guarantee! Great extensions will only cause damage if they are picked or pulled at. Also remember that your natural lashes have their own life cycle of growing and then shedding. So if a natural lash falls out attached to an extension, do not fret! This is completely natural.
We've seen our fair share of bad jobs and understand why some clients are reluctant to get their lashes done. We specialise in lashes so we know what we are doing. If you want the BEST lashes applied without causing damage to your natural lashes please come and see us. We are so confident in our skills that if you don't love it, we don't want you to pay for it!
ARE THERE ANY RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH LASH EXTENSIONS ?
As with any product, there is a very small chance of an allergic reaction. If this happens, swelling of the eyes may occur within the first 48 hours. If you're unsure, we can always do a patch test by applying a few extensions on first to see if you are prone to getting a reaction. If you do react, we will gladly remove your extensions without charge. Once removed, the swelling will dissipate within a day or two.
WHO SHOULD NOT WEAR EYELASH EXTENSIONS ?
Eyelash Extensions may not be suitable for people who:
Have pre-existing eyelid or eye conditions such as blepharitis and ocular rosacea
Are very rough with themselves and do not want to follow after care instructions
Want a very heavy mascara look but do not have the natural lashes to support it
Are in chlorinated water many times a week
Cannot control rubbing their eyes.
Have recently had eye or eyelid surgery within the past six weeks
Have had any type of invasive treatment around the eye or face area
Have allergies to or have had a reaction to acrylate products including acrylic nails
DO YOU RECOMMEND LASH EXTENSIONS FOR MY WEDDING OR TRAVEL ?
Yes! Eyelash Extensions will allow you the freedom of looking extra beautiful without the fuss of wearing mascara and eyeliner, and no mascara tear tracks! However, if you’ve never tried it before, we recommended you come in a month before your big day to decide on the look you want and to rule out any possible irritation. And then book for a refill 2-3 days prior to your big day.
FOR MICRO BLADING
How long does it last?
The results can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years. Many factors can affect this time frame, such as the clients type of skin, proper care of the brows after the procedure, and many others. It is recommended to have a touch-up procedure done annually to retain the proper shape and saturation of pigment
Does it hurt?
We have received various reviews on pain of the procedure. Everyone acquires a different level of sensitivity, so it is impossible to give a direct answer. Numbing creme is always applied prior and throughout the treatment. This will alleviate any sensation or discomfort. Some clients may even feel more sensitive with one brow than the other. You will hear a scratch like noise during the procedure, this is normal and nothing to be concerned about.
Music is usually played during the procedure, however feel free to bring your own ear phones and music to listen to.
Is it Safe?
Absolutely. We only use sterilised equipment. Where possible, we always use, disposable needles and supplies.
Will I need a touch-up?
Most likely. Within a week of your first treatment, the colour will fade significantly and over the next four to six weeks, it can continue to fade as much as 50%. This is considered an extremely positive occurrence as it allows you time to reflect on your shape and colour. After this period your follow-up appointment is carried out. At this point any changes you would like to make are discussed.
How long does it take?
For your initial appointment we ask if you can allow up to 2.5hours for your appointment. Your touch up appointment will require approximately 90minutes.
Do I need to take a day off work?
No, you do not. The redness will alleviate after a day or two at most. Eyebrows will appear darker initially, but not so dark that it should make you feel uncomfortable to go to work.
How long does it take to heal?
Healing time varies from individual to individual. Usually, it takes about a 7-10 days for the epithelial crust to form and slough off. Your skin will be considered healed after that happens. The pigment will then take some time to settle into the skin. This is why we recommend a touch up between 4 to 6 weeks later.
What’s the process like?
This semi-permanent makeup is a two-step treatment, consisting of an initial procedure and a touch up, between 4 to 6 weeks after. After taking a before photo, the brow design is drawn with a pencil, to give the client an idea of shape and form. (Please note that majority of faces are not completely symmetrical. Eyebrows are not meant to be identical and it is impossible to attain this look even with natural brow hair. It is also not possible to match a photo of your favourite celebrities’ eyebrows when you may have an entirely different face shape.) Once both the microblading artist and client have agreed on a final shape (ultimately it is the clients decision – but the artist may make recommendations based on their knowledge of what suits a person aesthetically), I will shape your eyebrows then we will decide on the colour. Shortly after that, a topical anesthetic will be administered to ensure comfort. Once you’re numb, the pigment is deposited. During the healing process, it is normal to experience some pigment loss; this is why a touch up is done.
What can’t I do after the procedure?
You are advised to keep the skin clean and dry – that means no swimming, sweating, getting the area wet, no tanning, no having prolonged sun exposure, no picking, peeling, scratching or rubbing the tattoo. These may attribute to loss of colour and scarring. Washing your hair and face may still be done, as long as the brows are not completely submerged in water. Once they have healed up entirely, you are free to treat them as your own.
How do I extend the life of the procedure?
Eyebrows will remain beautiful and last much longer if sun block is applied regularly and any abrasive facial treatments on the brow area is avoided.
What colour will I get?
The colour will mimic your natural brow hair as best as possible, unless a different colour is desired.
Do you have to shave off my own eyebrows?
No. Every attempt is made to retain all-natural eyebrow hair and integrate the semi-permanent design as naturally as possible. In some cases, where shaping of the natural brow is required, a few hairs here and there may need to be removed to create a clean and aesthetically pleasing result.
I have heard some clients just do not retain pigment even after a few visits. Could this happen?
Yes, it is a possibility depending on your skin type. In these circumstances, a third appointment is arranged. Often times, a client will cancel this appointment as the brows will just take a little extra time forming to the finished look. However, there are the occasional few that may need one or two extra strokes to finish off the look. The skin may react in a way to try and push out the foreign body of pigment by producing an extreme scab, which eventually will fall off, taking all the pigment with it. A condition of Pigment Allergy or PPD (paraphenylenediamine) can cause an adverse reaction from the dye as well as any Auto Immune diseases, which the client may not even be aware of. The skin would have over reacted and become super sensitive to the pigment and reject it at any cost.
Can you guarantee your work?
Unfortunately, we cannot. It is impossible to predict how the skin will react in each individual and many factors are taken into consideration; skin type, age, scarring, diet, stress levels, facial products used, etc. These all play a key role in how the pigment will hold, which is why it is crucial to know that more than one touch up may be required.
We treat our client’s brows as our own and offer the best possible treatment as we can. Using our experience and expertise to give the absolute best outcome possible. We guarantee to strive for complete satisfaction in the design of your brows every time. Again, reiterating that there are no guarantees in this industry. Please carefully take into account all aspects of the process and decide carefully if having your eyebrows micro-bladed is right for you.
What if I don’t like it?
Although Microblading is considered to be semi-permanent, the procedure does allow flexibility for colour or shape change to some extent. However, we will work closely with you to ensure your satisfaction with the proposed technique. We always allow for you to have as much control over the procedure as possible, so there is very little room for error. If you are unhappy with your original decision, the touch up may be cancelled and the pigmented area will naturally fade away over time. If you are not 100% sure you would benefit from this procedure, please opt for a more temporary option.
Please read through the before and aftercare pages before setting your consultation appointment to ensure that you are an ideal candidate for permanent makeup. Please do not bring children or pets to your appointment. 48 hour cancellation poicy are required for all appointments, if client does not cancel on time or show up, 50% fee will be charged
